Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) has officially handed over an IONIQ 5 to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

The IONIQ 5, the first electric vehicle manufactured in Singapore, will now serve as a key learning tool for SIT students and faculty. It will be integrated into research projects and academic programmes, ranging from undergraduate studies to Continuing Education and Training (CET).

The inclusion of this EV in SIT’s curriculum will enable students to gain hands-on experience in crucial areas such as vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies, advanced diagnostics, energy storage systems, power electronics, and the development of EV charging infrastructure.

Beyond the vehicle donation, the partnership between HMGICS and SIT extends to industry attachment opportunities for both students and faculty members at HMGICS, alongside knowledge-sharing initiatives and the development of CET courses for HMGICS staff.
